λ

One day like this a year could see me right. But mote than one would be better if it's not too much to ask.

I just need those mellow sepia tones in my life tonight

Wintry office view

I've been working today because it's all gone tits in my part of the world. Although I've not been in the office, the white Christmas mixed with a work outlook seems fitting. Dedicating this to those who have to work & be away from their families and would rather be at home. My work is light & quickly done but others are pulling out all the stops. For that, I salute you.

Mr G & I by spotlight. Can you guess which is which?

Whiteout

I don't hold much truck with excitement about the weather. It's just like rain only frozen & a billion times more annoyingly disruptive. I guess it is kinda pretty, though.

Holiday afternoons

No more of these for a while. Farewell, Spain. It's been fun.

Benalmadena Costa

Okay, so the resort might be tacky but with your back to the promenade the view's pretty lovely

Cut out & keep

When Spanish buildings fall derelict, they leave no opportunity for return. Maybe someday someone will cut out this bricked-up window & make it useable again

Inglesa Sta. Ana

A view up a side alley in Malaga. Alleys are where all the good stuff is to be found in Spain, it seems.

View from the roof terrace

The outlook from my cousin's roof terrace - the last Cordobese thing I saw before hauling my bag back to the station to head to Malaga. How's that for a view?

Farewell, frosty Britain

For now, we leave all this behind. The temperature this morning was -8 degrees Celsius; where we're going it's about 16 degrees warmer. So long for now.

I'd almost forgotten

Then I went to the kitchen, saw the 2" of lying snow & went "oh yeah, I remember..."

Bless her. She's so dim he wouldn't even think to move out of the way

Cat in the grass

Maxi on our lawn this summer. We do have two cats. It's just that this one's the only one who stays still long enough to be photographed.

Sheafs of papers

Papers that belonged to a friend. Papers that made her who she is today.

Who is that masked man?

This mask. It scares the crap out of me. Not gonna lie. I mean, look!

Frosty morning

I've been remiss the past few days with posting but as an excuse I offer my succumbing to a consumptive fever. No, really.

Hotel lights

The hotel I'm staying in this weekend is the weirdest I've ever been in. Last night I put my water bottle down on the floor & it rolled toward the door. The girls I'm staying with call it The Wonky House. I can see why

I made this! BBC Sherlock and John amigurumi dolls

In a break from scheduled programming, I interrupt this photo blog to bring you a series of photos of two dolls I crocheted for a friend and sent off to her this week.

She, like me, is a massive fan of Sherlock Holmes and BBC's recent Sherlock series in particular. As a result, what more could a girl possibly want than her own Sherlock and John? Exactly. Nothing on earth could be better :)

Allow me to introduce you to Sherlock and John:

Aren't they great? I love them to bits and I think they're awesome, even if I do say so myself. Would you like to see some more? Yeah, thought so...

For all you attention-to-detail fans out there, check these out:

They were all comfortably packaged-up in a nice padded box to head off to their intended destination. When my friend opened the package, this will be what she saw:

And for those who are fans of the show, you may recognise this particular scene from Study in Pink, the first adventure our two heroes had together. I took these pics just for funsies.

"Want to see some more?"
"Oh God, yes"
